World report — Research showspatients with atopic eczema saw significant improvements after applying creams with the harmless bacteria Vitreoscilla filiformis, commonly found in thermal springs and spas, the Telegraph.co.uk reports.
Researchers say the benefits likely come from compounds in the bacteria which can regulate the immune system, according to the study published in the British Journal of Dermatology.
